VOTFNJ Action Priorities

Support those who have been sexually abused by:

  • Contributing financially to Road to Recovery and SNAP
  • Attending local events which will support them
  • Speaking out as a group or as individuals as action seems advisable
  • Working with the state legislators to change the statute of limitation

 Support priests of integrity by:

  • Showing support for parish priests sharing our goals despite restrictions and difficulties
  • Speaking out about the need for more clergy - which could include married priests, women priests, deacons, and those speaking the language of their parishioners, as well as understanding their culture
  • Encouraging participation of clergy and laity in selecting local bishops

Help to change church structure by:

  • Speaking out against restrictions preventing reasonable change
  • Encouraging the Pope’s efforts to spread openness and dialogue between clergy and laity
  • Fostering the intellectual and spiritual growth of our members through development of a strong Eucharistic Community, retreats, discussions, and speakers on a regular basis
  • Affirm our members’ participation in and dedication to their local parishes
